BPSU WOMEN'S
COMMITTEE

The BPSU Women’s Committee is a Standing Committee established as per Article V – Organization; 2 (f) General Council of the Constitution of the Bermuda Public Services Union.

Women's Committee Chairperson: Sis. Christine Bogle-Mienzer

The purpose of the committee is:

 

  • To encourage women’s participation in Union activities, educate women on the trade union movement and encourage their involvement at all levels.

 

  • To foster communication, networking, and the dissemination of information directly relating to women.

 

  • To educate on health, economic, and social issues that impact women.

 

  • To encourage women’s participation in educational opportunities both locally and internationally.

 

  • To encourage and support a decent work agenda for women.

 

  • To promote and encourage women to run for elected Union office and support candidates.

 

  • To create mentorship opportunities by aligning young workers with experienced women unionists.

 

  • To organize an annual International Women’s Day event and other activities targeted towards women.
